TNETS participates in joint effort to improve compliance with US and Japan Export Controls.
TNETS recently had the privilege of participating in the Joint Industry Outreach Seminar on Strategic Trade Management which focused primarily on US and Japan export controls, organised by Singapore Customs together with the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the U.S. Export Control and Related Border Security Program (EXBS), the Embassy of the United States in Singapore, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan.
During the event, several matters of critical importance in the area of Trade Compliance were discussed. The key topics were as follows: – Japan’s Export Control Requirements
– the U.S. Export Control Reform and Export Enforcement
– Singapore’s TradeFIRST assessment
– Regional Updates on Strategic Trade Management
– Mitigation of Compliance Risks by the private sector
A number of cases studies were cited as to where shippers and forwarders had fallen foul of the laws and the penalties arising therefrom.
If you are exporting from Singapore, or importing into the US from elsewhere contact TNETS for a free, no-obligation one-time consultation and let us show how you can save time and money and still maintain full compliance with customs processing.
